We are authorized to sell parts from the industry's major manufacturers – more than 40 brand names – including, but not limited to: Bodyguard, Concept II, Cybex, Icon, Life Fitness, Nautilus, Nordic Trac, Pacemaster, Paramount, Precor, ProForm, SciFit, StarTrac, StairMaster, True, and Vectra. We also service brands that are sold through mass merchants such as Sears, Target, and Wal-Mart. Whatever you need in the way of service, repair or preventive maintenance for Fitness Equipment, we can handle it!
2. Do I need to be a mechanic or have experience to open an ExerTech franchise?
No, we will provide you the technical knowledge necessary to troubleshoot, research and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all types of fitness equipment.
3. How much money can I make?
The amount of money individual franchises can expect to make will vary depending upon a multitude of factors. ExerTech does provide a financial performance representation within our Franchise Disclosure Document which you will receive during the sales process.
4. What kind of training and support will I receive?
You will receive 5 days of training at our corporate office covering general sales, working with manufacturers, suppliers and vendors, operations, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance, bookkeeping and record keeping and human resources. Support will continue in your market with regular communication and coaching and counseling to build your business.
5. How do I build my customer base?
ExerTech will introduce you to major manufacturers of fitness equipment to gain entry as a recommended repair company for your area. In addition, we will accompany you on sales calls during your training period to teach you how to obtain contracts for corporate accounts.
6. How much is my franchise fee and what is included?
The franchise fee is $15,000. Included in the fee is an exclusive territory, use of the ExerTech brand name, operating systems, logo, trade dress, comprehensive training program and ongoing support. Your territory is based on a population of up to 500,000 people in a county. Larger territories may be purchased for an additional fee of 3¢ per head for each additional person. Development agreements are available.
7. What are the ongoing fees?
You will be required to pay 7% royalty and 1% brand development fee.
8. What do I need financially to open an ExerTech?
We require potential franchisees to have a minimum of $30,000 net worth with at least $10,000 in liquid capital.
9. Is financing available?
Yes, Proexco, LLC does finance up to 50% of the franchise fee based on the creditworthiness of the applicant.
10. Do I need to purchase a vehicle?
You will need a dependable vehicle which portrays a proper business appearance to operate your ExerTech franchise. You do not need to purchase a new vehicle and may use your personal car, van or sport utility vehicle.
